Sally-Anne McCormack is the principal psychologist in her clinic and has private practices in Blackburn and Burwood East in the eastern suburbs of Melbourne, Victoria. She is a registered psychologist, media consultant, former teacher and mother of four. In addition, she has now become an author with her first book - "Stomp Out The ANTs" being launched in 2010.

The psychologists assist adults who are facing challenges such as stress, depression, anxiety, sleep problems (eg. insomnia), individual issues, along with a variety of other difficulties in their day-to-day lives. Sally-Anne and her colleagues also provides support and advice for parents and teachers in terms of behaviour management, classroom strategies and other challenges.

Sally-Anne has specific interests in the prevention and treatment of depression in children and adolescents, and the unique difficulties that gifted students face in their schooling and day-to-day lives.  In her practices, she regularly assists parents with the issues they face raising their children and teens in the 21st century.  She has another website - ParentsOnline - which has articles, forums and information for those dealing with the younger generation.  She has recently become accredited to support a self-help sleep program.  As an international speaker, she has travelled overseas to speak on issues such as the problems with computer (& internet) addiction, and presents to organisations and schools on various cyber safety challenges.

As a Melbourne psychologist, Sally-Anne is often consulted by various media to comment professionally on current topics both in Victoria and interstate/overseas.

Sally-Anne has a commitment to the highest standards of professional practice which is demonstrated by her membership with the Australian Psychological Society (A.P.S.). In fact, she is registered with them as a media spokesperson.  She is also a past-committee member of the Victorian Association of Gifted & Talented Children (V.A.G.T.C.) and is currently on the committee of the Private Practice Working Party (P.P.W.P.) for psychologists. In addition, she is a committee member of ADAVIC (Anxiety Disorders Association of Victoria).

In addition to her professional associations as a psychologist, Sally-Anne is a member of The Hartwell Players (Melbourne's oldest performing community theatre company) which encourages the involvement of youth in theatre.

Professional counselling is offered to people of all ages, along with skills training and assessments.  The professionals offer group programs to educate children and adolescents in particular areas.  Sally-Anne is the author of the "Stomp Out The ANTs" Program (formerly the "LIFE STRATEGIES PROGRAM").  Currently she is writing a book giving practical advice to parents of gifted children which she hopes to publish in 2009. In addition, she co-facilitates groups for adults - "Dealing with Depression", "Dealing with Anxiety" and "Dealing with Depression".  Please contact the This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it for information on future dates.

Newsflash

"Stomp Out The ANTs" Program (formerly the "Life Strategies Program")

These programs have been written in response to the growing number of children and adolescents who are at risk for or suffering from depression, particularly during transition periods (eg. moving from primary to secondary school or university, divorce, stress, peer pressures, etc.). School refusal is increasing, and suicide accounted for nearly 20% of deaths of 15-19 year old males in Australia in 2003 Australian Bureau of Statistics, 15/12/2004.

The strategies taught are based on CBT which has been shown to be the most successful therapy for depression.

Sally-Anne McCormack is a registered psychologist, teacher & parent (as seen in various print media, as well as oftenheard on talk-back radio or on Channel 31's "Room To Grow" television show).  There are several programs available for school-aged students and a NEW program for parents.
